The 7th ASEAN Children’s Forum
In this year 2022, The National Commission for Advancement of Women, Mother and Children and ChildFund in Laos is very proud to send 3 children delegates to the 7th ASEAN Children’s Forum, Jakarta, Indonesia on 15-20 November 2022. The Forum is a child-friendly, inclusive and gender-equality and equal opportunity for children with disabilities event where children from 10 ASEAN counties can share their opinions and provide feedback on how their rights are being respected. And this year the 7th ACF under the theme “Building a Digital Resiliency for ASEAN Children”, taking into consideration that children have built resilience during the two years of COVID-19 pandemic and the adoption of the ASEAN Declaration on the Culture of Prevention for a Peaceful, Inclusive, Resilient, Healthy and Harmonious Society during the 31st ASEAN Summit on 13th November in 2017 in Manila, Philippines.
“I feel like I am dreaming and really grateful to represent Lao children at the 7th ASEAN Children’s Forum 2022 in Indonesia. This event is very meaningful to me, I met so many wonderful people from many countries. I gain a lot of knowledge from the forum and get to know and understand about the situation in each country, as well as why it is important for us to build a digital resilience for ASEAN Children. Even though this event held for only 5 days but, it was filled with joy, laughter, and happiness. This really motivates me to make a different in my country in terms of building resiliency, we also collaborated to make a project for people in Laos and ASEAN, to provide knowledge about digital literacy, digital resiliency and digital security and I hope this will improve our society to be better” – Mr. Saisingkham ITHIPHONE
