On January 18, 2023, ChildFund in Laos held the Annual Meeting of the Project Implementation Management Committee (IMC) in the meeting room of Houaphanh Provincial of Public Health Department. The ceremony was co-chaired by Dr. Ouymexay Sibounheuang, Deputy Director of Houaphanh Provincial Health Department, and Mr. Vilasai Thammavong, Acting Country Director of ChildFund in Laos – Programs.

In addition, there were representatives from the Ministry of Health; Ministry of Education and Sports; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; related departments; ChildFund Australia; ChildFund Korea; Vice District Governor of Xamneua, Sop Bao, and Huameuang Districts; local CSO partners; and ChildFund in Laos’ project staffs were also honored to participate.

The four ChildFund projects, including Integrated Nutrition for Growth (IN4G), Better Outcomes for Inclusive Learning (BOIL), Promoting Accountability and Education Rights (PAER), and Gender and Language Education for Ethnic Students’ Empowerment (GLEESE), each presented the details of their project, summarized the implementation of the project activities in 2022 and the results obtained, outlined the project work plan in 2023, and summarized their budget for the remaining period.

In addition, within the meeting, there was the sharing of lessons learned and the expression of viewpoints from participants. This meeting focused on improving the implementation of the project and finding the most effective solution for communities.
