ChildFund in Laos organized the closing meeting at the end of the project and handing over to the government through online teleconferencing on December 24, 2021

CFL’s Scaling-up Access to Basic Education in Lao PDR (SABEL) Project is supported by ChildFund Korea through ChildFund in Laos organized the closing meeting at the end of the project and handing over to the government through online teleconferencing on December 24, 2021.

The project started on 1 July 2018 – 30 June 2021 and has been extended from July to December 2021.
The project’s main objectives are:
✅ Girl and boys improve their learning outcomes in reading and their oral Lao language.
✅ VEDC, parents and families support student learning in school.
✅ Multi-grade guidelines were reviewed and better teaching plans were implemented.

✅ Children adopt improved hygiene practices.

The project was implemented in 62 villages of Huameuang District, Huaphanh Province, accompanied by the Provincial Education and Sports Service (PESS) and District Education and Sports Bureau (DESB) as the partners.

At the end of the project, ChildFund in Laos will discuss with DESB and PESS, to hand over the project’s activities and combine these to link into their plans and continue regular monitoring.

ChildFund will also work securing funds to continue supporting the Scaling-Up Access to Basic Education activity in the target area by adapting the project activities to ensure the implementation of effective and contextualized methods together with DESB, PESS, school, and community.
