ChildFund in Laos is pleased to welcome donor representatives from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and ChildFund Korea, who visited the Gender and Language Education for Ethnic Student’s Empowerment (GLEESE) project target areas to participate in handover the secondary school library in Xamneua District, Huaphanh Province.
The school libraires were funded by the People and the Government of Republic of the Korea on the basic of Friendship with Lao PDR in the Partnership with ChildFund Korea, and ChildFund in Laos for implementation. Ms. Yoonjung LEE, KOICA Development Cooperation Coordinator and Mr. JungJin Park, Project Compliance Advisor, ChildFund Korea visited Sa-Lei and Long Eud school in 12-13. 7. 2022. while they visit communities, they also interview students, community members, teachers, village authorities, and government partners to listen their experiences about the project to understand more about community’s culture, needs and how can they improve the project with communities.
The purpose of the school’s libraries was built to increase interest in reading and provide safe and friendly spaces for students. In the library, ChildFund in Laos will implement literacy activities to improve students’ Lao reading, listening, and writing.
The total cost for construction of the Three libraries is 730.025.016 kip, with a community contribution of 19.540.200 Kip.
