CFL’s project staff conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) on Processed Food Production for the provincial and district technical staff from four provinces

Organized by CARE International in Lao PDR, CFL’s project staff conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) on Processed Food Production for the provincial and district technical staff from four provinces: Luangprabang, Phongsaly, Huaphanh, and Luangnamtha Provinces).

The Processed Food Production training aims to strengthen the capacity of district and provincial level trainers to create nutritious food processing options in the four target provinces of CFL’s SCALING project (funded by European Union in Laos). The training incorporates sharing lessons learned to the 13 target villages under the participants’ responsibility (6 villages of 3 Districts in Luangnamtha Province, 2 villages in Luangprabang Province, 3 villages in Phongsaly Province, and 2 villages in Huaphanh Province).

Aside from consuming more local and nutritious foods, CFL encourages women and youth to utilize their skills learned in food processing as an alternative livelihood to generate income.
