20 VEDC members and 31 CSG members from 10 schools in Houmeuang District were trained on Inclusive Education as part of CFL’s Promoting Accountability and Education Rights (PAER) Project

Over the years, Lao PDR has slowly progressed in providing inclusive education for children from different backgrounds regardless of their gender, disability, ethnicity, religion, language, culture, or social-economic standing.

ChildFund in Laos joins forces with the Government of Lao PDR (Houameuang District Education and Sports Bureau (DESB), Houameuang Labour and Welfare office), Aids for Children with Disability Association (ACDA), and Life Skill Development Association (LSDA), to address barriers to realizing Inclusive Education at the grassroots level in Lao PDR’s northern provinces.

On 25 – 29 July 2021, 20 Village Education Development Committee (VEDC) members and 31 village-level Civil Society Group (CSG) members from 10 target schools in Houmeuang District, Huaphanh Province, were trained on Inclusive Education as part of CFL’s Promoting Accountability and Education Rights (PAER) Project funded by the European Union in Laos
CFL’s PAER project seeks to strengthen the role and capacity of local village-level civil society groups and VEDC to promote and protect human rights, particularly the right to education, in Huaphanh Province.
